The Scope
Salix Mechanical Ltd attended an urgent callout on report that there was no hot water to the showers and other washing facilities. On attending site we found that the hot water booster pump had failed, hence the lack of hot water supply around the building.
The Solution
In the normal course of events, we would look to replace the failed part, for example, a failed pump within the booster set. However in this case with both expansion vessels failing, one pump failed and the other one running but not circulating water, as well as extensive corrosion and damage to the framework – we recommended a full replacement of the hot water booster set.
Within 2 weeks of attending the initial callout, we were on site installing the new hot water booster set, which was up and running within 2 days, fully commissioned and operational.
